| Tis the season to be... well the cliche thing to say is jolly. It is Christmas after all, everyone should be happy and [look] perfect. Everyone is getting their homes to look as if no one has ever lived in them, buying presents to out do what someone got you last year, preparing food as if you were Martha Stuwart(but really... we all know you arn't even close). And don't forget the Christmas tree... all bright and colourful, packed with presents and just looking fab! But i am afraid that this is also the biggest season of people hiding their non-tv show lives. It seems that it is tradition to cover-up everything we have been going through to hope that no one notices. Heaven forbid that someone see's your bluff and calls it. How humiliating! But should it really be that way? At Christmas time, we are usually surrounded by the people who we love and who love us back, the people we want to see and have over for some egg nog and turkey stuffing. But why are we so afraid to let them see what life is really dealing you? These are [literally] your brothers and sisters, your moms and your dads... they love you! If you're like me and still live at home you understand that it really isn't that hard to hide what is really going on in your life. But secretly, don't we wish they had a clue? Of course, we don't actually want to talk about it to them or share our pain... but we want them to know at the same time. Christmas is about a baby boy who was born and then later gave his life for ours. As much as this is a time of celebration and rejoicing, it is also a time of new life. It's also the birth of hope in and for our lives. Its the perfect season to perge out everything that doesn't belong and then let the Holy Spirit breathe life back into us. To give birth is to perge something out of your body that doesn't belong anymore, to disconnect, to release, to litereally scream and push through all the pain and get IT OUT. Which is exactly what it is like to remove the crap out of our lives. It is just as rewarding(obvisiously in a different way) and freeing when its all said and done. You can't wait to find your friends and family and share with them how great you feel and this new hope in your life. You found a new love, song, joy that wasn't there before. So before we all get together and share in this wonderful season... lets perge out our junk and truely have a jolly Christmas... for Christs sake! | | |
| How can one be so certain of another None know the secrets or reasons The life behind a closed door can be quite unpredictable Yet, to one the mystery falls short He claims to know such character Is willing to stand behind them wholeheartedly What about doubt or let downs The broken promise holds much power Yet, to one forgiveness and hopes still linger Such patriotism has caused my speech to stumble The walk away is much easier to tolerate But the draw is so strong Is there evidence still missing Yet, to one all is certain | | |
| Jeremiah 1:4-10 "Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: "Before i formed you in the wormb i knew you; Before you were born i sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." Then i said: "Ah, Lord God! Behold, i cannot speak, for i am a youth." But the Lord said to me: "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom i senf you, And whatever I command you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For i am with you to deliver you," says the Lord. Then the lord put forth His hand touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: "Behold, i have put my words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant."" Regardless of who you are, who you think you are, who others may think you are... Regardless of what you've planned, thought up, written... Regardless of what you went to school for or what your job is...
God is bigger than all that and change it in a matter of seconds. He has a calling on your life... for right now, for tomorrow, and for the rest of your life... It could very well be something has widespread as this passage in Jeremiah or could be close to home... Regardless of all the minor details, listen and let God put the words in your mouth and the confidence to do in your spirit. He has planned your for such a purpose and plan that is to come. You have been chosen!
